Possible Causes
Room temperature below operating range, Faulty ambient temperature sensor reading too low, Control logic stuck in defrost mode
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal work is usually required for this condition, but always unplug the unit before opening any covers.
Steps:
- Check room temperature: Verify that the room is within the operating range specified by Argo (typically above 5–7°C for dehumidifiers). If the room is too cold, move the unit to a warmer area.
- Allow warm-up: If the unit was stored in a cold environment, let it sit unplugged at room temperature for several hours before use.
- Sensor check: If F1 appears even in a warm room, inspect the ambient NTC sensor and wiring. Replace the Argo ambient NTC temperature sensor if it reads abnormally low resistance.
- Reset control: After sensor replacement or relocation to a warmer room, unplug and reconnect power to clear the fault.
