Possible Causes
Running without water, Blocked air vents, Failed thermal fuse or temperature sensor in base, Excessive scale on heater or ultrasonic transducer
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the humidifier and allow it to cool completely before servicing. Do not operate without water.
Steps:
- Check water level: Ensure the tank is full and properly seated.
- Clean base: Remove the tank and inspect the base for heavy scale or deposits on the heating element or ultrasonic transducer. Clean with a vinegar solution as recommended by Argo.
- Inspect vents: Make sure air intake and exhaust vents are not blocked by dust or objects.
- Thermal sensor check: If H2 recurs quickly, inspect the base temperature sensor or thermal fuse. Replace the Argo humidifier base temperature sensor or thermal fuse if open or out of range.
- Test: After cleaning and part replacement, refill with water, restore power, and verify that H2 no longer appears.
