Possible Causes

Clogged internal drain channel, Blocked pump outlet hose, Stuck internal float switch, Faulty pump level switch

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before tilting or opening it. Water may spill; protect flooring.

Steps:

  • Drain water: Remove the external tank and empty it. If your Argo model has a continuous drain or pump outlet, disconnect the hose and ensure it is not kinked or blocked.
  • Check internal tray: Some Argo dehumidifiers have an internal sump. Carefully tilt the unit slightly backward and to the side over a drain to allow trapped water to escape (do not exceed manufacturer tilt recommendations).
  • Clean drain path: Use a flexible brush or pipe cleaner to clear the drain spout from the evaporator tray to the tank or hose connection.
  • Inspect pump float switch (if equipped): Access the pump compartment and verify that the float moves freely. Clean any slime or debris. Test the switch with a multimeter and replace the Argo pump float switch if defective.
  • Reassemble and test: Reconnect hoses, reinstall the tank, restore power, and confirm that P1 clears and normal operation resumes.
