Safety: Unplug the unit before cleaning. Avoid inhaling dust or mold; wear a mask and gloves if sensitive.
Steps:
- Clean tank: Remove the water tank and wash it with warm water and mild detergent. Disinfect with a diluted bleach solution (rinse thoroughly afterward).
- Clean filter and coils: Wash the air filter. Use a coil cleaner approved for aluminum fins on the evaporator and condenser, following product instructions.
- Dry interior: After cleaning, run the unit in fan-only mode (if available) for 30–60 minutes to dry internal surfaces.
- Regular maintenance: Empty the tank daily in humid seasons and clean it weekly to prevent odor buildup.
