Possible Causes
Stuck or burnt compressor relay, Failed fan relay, Damaged triac controlling motor, PCB trace damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and discharge capacitors before working on the PCB. Board-level repairs should be done by qualified personnel.
Steps:
- Listen for relays: When you command the unit to start, you should hear a click from the relays. No click may indicate a control or relay issue.
- Check output voltage: With proper electrical safety and the unit powered, measure voltage at the compressor and fan connectors when the unit is commanded ON. If no voltage is present, the main PCB is likely faulty.
- Inspect relays: With power removed, inspect the relay solder joints for cracks or burns. Re-solder if visibly cracked.
- Replace PCB: If relays are burnt or the board is damaged, replace the entire Argo main control PCB rather than attempting component-level repair unless you are an electronics specialist.
