Possible Causes
Failed fan motor, Jammed fan wheel, Faulty fan capacitor (if used), Defective fan driver on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing the fan.
Steps:
- Obstruction check: Remove the filter and inspect the fan for obstructions. Remove any debris.
- Spin test: Try spinning the fan by hand. If stiff, the motor bearings may be seized and the motor should be replaced.
- Electrical test: With a multimeter and the unit unplugged, check continuity of the fan motor windings. Open circuit indicates a failed motor.
- Capacitor (if present): Some models use a start/run capacitor for the fan. Inspect for bulging or leakage and replace with the same µF rating if faulty.
- Replace motor: Install a Cecotec-compatible fan motor assembly if the original is defective.
