Possible Causes

Dirty air filter or blocked airflow, Room temperature too low for effective dehumidification, Refrigerant leak or low charge, Faulty compressor or 4-way valve (if heat pump model)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the Cecotec dehumidifier before cleaning or internal inspection.

Steps:

  • Check humidity and temperature: Use a separate hygrometer if possible. If the room is already dry (below ~40% RH) or very cold, little water will be collected.
  • Clean filter and coils: Remove and wash the air filter. Vacuum dust from the evaporator and condenser coils.
  • Check for frost: After running for 30–60 minutes, inspect the evaporator. If it is completely iced over, the unit may be operating in too cold an environment or have a defrost issue.
  • Check compressor operation: When running, the compressor should produce a gentle vibration and the condenser should feel warm. If the fan runs but the compressor never starts, there may be an electrical or compressor fault.
  • Look for oil stains: Oil on the coils or tubing can indicate a refrigerant leak. Sealed-system repairs must be done by a certified technician.
