Possible Causes

Blocked fan wheel, Failed fan motor, Loose fan motor connector, Faulty fan driver circuit on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect the Cecotec dehumidifier from mains before accessing the fan area. Keep fingers clear of blades.

Steps:

  • Check for obstructions: Remove the air filter and visually inspect the fan wheel. Remove any plastic, paper, or debris that may be jamming the blades.
  • Spin test: With the unit unplugged, gently spin the fan wheel by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding. If it is stiff or scraping, the motor bearings or housing may be damaged.
  • Access fan motor: Remove the rear or side panel to expose the fan motor assembly. Inspect the motor bracket and screws; tighten any loose fasteners.
  • Inspect wiring: Check the fan motor connector on the PCB. Reseat it and look for burnt or discolored pins.
  • Power-on observation: Reassemble enough to run safely, plug in, and start the unit. If the fan hums but does not start, the motor is likely failing and should be replaced.
  • Replace fan motor: Order a compatible Cecotec fan motor assembly (axial or cross-flow depending on model). Swap the motor, transfer the fan wheel if separate, and reconnect wiring as original.
  • PCB issue: If a new motor does not run and E6 remains, the fan driver circuit on the main PCB may be defective and require board replacement.
