Possible Causes

Stuck float in water tank, Faulty float switch, Dirty or blocked water level sensor, Damaged sensor wiring to PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the Cecotec dehumidifier before removing the water tank or accessing internal parts.

Steps:

  • Empty and clean tank: Remove the water tank, empty it completely, and wash with mild detergent. Rinse and dry to ensure the float moves freely.
  • Check float movement: Locate the float inside the tank or in the tank cavity. Move it up and down; it should move smoothly and return by gravity or magnet. Remove any scale, slime, or debris that may cause sticking.
  • Inspect float switch: In models with a magnetic reed switch, ensure the magnet on the float is intact and aligned with the switch. For mechanical micro-switches, verify the lever is actuated when the float rises.
  • Check wiring: Follow the level sensor wires to the PCB. Look for loose connectors or damaged insulation. Reseat the connector.
  • Bypass test (advanced): With the unit unplugged, you can temporarily jumper the level switch terminals to simulate an empty tank (only for testing). If E7 clears and the unit runs, the switch is faulty and must be replaced. Remove the jumper after testing.
  • Replace sensor: Install a new Cecotec water level sensor or float switch assembly if defective.
