P1
Cecotec
Defrost Mode Active / Low Temperature Protection
Dehumidifier shows P1 and does not start dehumidifying
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Room temperature too low, Evaporator heavily frosted, Defrost sensor detecting ice, Blocked airflow causing coil icing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: P1 on many Cecotec dehumidifiers is informational rather than a fault, indicating defrost mode.
Steps:
- Check room temperature: If the room is below the minimum operating temperature, move the unit to a warmer area.
- Allow defrost: Leave the unit plugged in and powered on; it may automatically defrost and resume operation once the coil temperature rises.
- Clean filter and coils: Unplug the unit, remove the filter, and clean it. Vacuum dust from the evaporator to improve airflow and reduce icing.
- Placement: Ensure at least 20–30 cm clearance around the unit for proper air circulation.
