Possible Causes
Blown mains fuse on PCB, Faulty power cord, Tripped circuit breaker, Failed main control PCB power supply section
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Ensure the unit is unplugged before opening. Mains voltage is present inside; only proceed if you are competent with electrical safety.
Steps:
- 1. External checks: Verify the wall outlet with another appliance. Check the house breaker or fuse. Inspect the Ebac power cord for cuts or burn marks.
- 2. Check onboard fuse: Remove the cover and locate the fuse on the main PCB (often a glass or ceramic fuse). Test with a multimeter and replace with the same rating if blown.
- 3. Inspect for damage: Look for burnt components or tracks on the PCB, especially near the power input and transformer or SMPS section.
- 4. Test power switch: If your model has a mechanical power switch, test it for continuity when ON. Replace if faulty.
- 5. Replace PCB: If the fuse blows again immediately or the low-voltage supply is dead, the main control PCB likely needs replacement.
Warning: Do not bypass fuses or use higher-rated fuses; this is a fire hazard.
