Possible Causes
Disconnected water level float switch, Broken float switch wires, Corroded float switch terminals, Faulty float switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working near the water tank area.
Steps:
- 1. Remove tank: Slide out the water tank and inspect the float mechanism and the area where the tank engages the float switch.
- 2. Locate float switch: Inside the cabinet, find the float switch assembly (often a small plastic housing with two wires). Check that it is firmly mounted and not physically damaged.
- 3. Wiring check: Inspect the two-conductor cable from the float switch to the main PCB. Repair any broken or corroded connections and reseat the connector on the board.
- 4. Continuity test: With the float in the "empty" position, test the switch with a multimeter. It should show continuity (or as specified by Ebac). Move the float to the "full" position and confirm the state changes.
- 5. Replace switch: If the switch does not change state or is open in all positions, replace it with the correct Ebac float switch assembly.
Tip: Ensure the tank correctly actuates the float when inserted; adjust the switch bracket if necessary.
