Possible Causes
Out-of-calibration humidity sensor, Incorrect sensor type fitted, Firmware configuration error, Damaged sensor from moisture ingress
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before accessing the control panel or sensor.
Steps:
- 1. Compare readings: Place a reliable hygrometer near the dehumidifier and compare its reading to the unit's display. If the difference is large (>10% RH), the sensor may be out of calibration.
- 2. Inspect sensor: Locate the humidity sensor module and check for signs of water damage or corrosion. Ensure it is not directly in the moist air stream from the outlet.
- 3. Replace sensor: Install a new Ebac humidity sensor module compatible with your model. Mount it in the same location and orientation as the original.
- 4. Reset / calibration: Some Ebac models allow a service reset or calibration via button sequence. Refer to the service manual; perform the reset if available.
- 5. PCB / firmware: If a new sensor does not resolve F3, the main PCB or firmware may be faulty and require replacement by an authorized service center.
Note: Avoid spraying cleaners or fragrances near the humidity sensor; chemicals can permanently alter its response.
