Possible Causes

Damaged membrane keypad, Loose keypad ribbon cable, Failed display/control PCB, Liquid ingress into control panel

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before opening the control panel.

Steps:

  • 1. Inspect panel: Check the front control panel for cracks or signs of water ingress. If the panel has been exposed to condensation or spills, it may have shorted.
  • 2. Reseat ribbon cable: Remove the control panel cover and locate the ribbon cable from the keypad to the display or main PCB. Reseat both ends and ensure the locking tabs are engaged.
  • 3. Test keypad: With the panel open and power restored (use caution), press each button and observe if any response occurs. If none respond, the keypad membrane is likely faulty.
  • 4. Replace keypad or UI board: Depending on model, replace the membrane keypad overlay or the entire user interface PCB with the correct Ebac part.
  • 5. Check main PCB: If a new keypad does not restore operation, the main control PCB may not be processing inputs and will need replacement.

Warning: Avoid operating the unit with the control panel open; live parts may be exposed.
