Possible Causes

Shorted RH sensor element, Moisture bridging sensor terminals, Shorted sensor wiring harness, Faulty main PCB input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before working on the sensor circuit.

Steps:

  • 1. Dry the sensor: If the unit has been exposed to excessive condensation, remove the humidity sensor module and allow it to dry in a warm, dry place for several hours.
  • 2. Inspect for corrosion: Check the sensor PCB and connector for corrosion or conductive debris. Clean gently with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush.
  • 3. Wiring check: Inspect the sensor harness for crushed or abraded insulation that could cause a short between conductors.
  • 4. Replace sensor: If H1 persists, replace the humidity sensor assembly with a new Ebac part.
  • 5. PCB diagnosis: If a new sensor and harness do not resolve the issue, the main PCB input may be shorted internally and require board replacement.

Tip: Ensure the sensor is not mounted where condensate can drip directly onto it.
