Possible Causes
Broken RH sensor element, Disconnected sensor plug, Broken wire in sensor harness, Faulty main PCB input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the dehumidifier before accessing the sensor.
Steps:
- 1. Check connector: Locate the humidity sensor and ensure its connector is fully seated on both the sensor and the main PCB.
- 2. Inspect harness: Look for any visible breaks or cuts in the sensor cable. Flex the cable gently while watching for intermittent connection.
- 3. Resistance test: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance across its terminals. An open circuit (OL) indicates a failed sensor.
- 4. Replace sensor/harness: Install a new humidity sensor assembly and harness as required.
- 5. PCB check: If the new sensor still reads open, the PCB input may be damaged and the main control board will need replacement.
