Possible Causes
Failed fan motor, Obstructed fan wheel, Faulty fan capacitor (if fitted), Fan wiring fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool. Do not operate the compressor without a functioning fan.
Steps:
- 1. Visual check: Confirm that the fan does not spin when the unit is running. Do not reach into the fan while powered.
- 2. Obstruction: With power off, remove the grille and clear any obstructions. Spin the fan by hand to check for free movement.
- 3. Electrical test: Check for voltage at the fan motor when the unit calls for fan operation. If voltage is present and the fan does not run, replace the fan motor.
- 4. Capacitor: If your model uses a separate fan capacitor, test and replace it if defective.
- 5. Wiring: Repair any damaged fan wiring or loose connectors.
