Musty or unpleasant smell from air outlet during operation

Safety: Unplug the unit. Wear gloves and a mask if sensitive to mold.

Steps:

• 1. Clean tank: Empty and wash the water tank with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry.
• 2. Filter cleaning: Remove and wash the air filter. Let it dry completely before reinstalling.
• 3. Coil cleaning: Access the evaporator coil and gently clean with a soft brush. Use a non-corrosive coil cleaner approved for aluminum if necessary, following product instructions.
• 4. Pump tray: For pump models, clean the pump reservoir and float area to remove slime and biofilm.
• 5. Dry-out cycle: After cleaning, run the unit in fan-only mode (if available) for 30–60 minutes to dry internal surfaces.
