Possible Causes
Clogged internal drain channel, Misaligned water bucket, Cracked bucket or drain pan, Improperly installed drain hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit. Dry any spilled water to avoid slipping.
Steps:
- Inspect bucket: Remove the bucket and check for cracks or overfilling. Ensure the bucket is not warped and seats properly.
- Clean drain channel: Look inside the cabinet where water drips from the evaporator into the drain trough. Use a small brush or pipe cleaner to clear any slime or debris from the drain hole.
- Flush with water: With the bucket removed, pour a small amount of warm water into the drain trough and confirm it flows freely into the bucket area or hose connection.
- Check drain hose: If using a hose, ensure it is firmly attached to the drain outlet, slopes downward, and is not kinked or blocked.
- Level the unit: Use a level to ensure the dehumidifier is sitting flat. Adjust feet if available.
- Replace damaged parts: Replace a cracked bucket or damaged drain pan with Frigidaire OEM parts.
