Steps:

• Verify humidity: Use a separate hygrometer to check actual room humidity. If it is extremely high (e.g., >90%), HI may be normal until humidity drops.
• Improve ventilation: Reduce moisture sources (drying clothes, open water containers) and increase air circulation in the room.
• Clean sensor area: Remove and clean the air filter. Vacuum the intake grille and gently clean around the humidity sensor.
• Power reset: Unplug for 5 minutes, then plug back in and set a target humidity (e.g., 50%).
• Sensor replacement: If HI remains even in a dry room, the humidity sensor may be defective and should be replaced.
