Possible Causes
Room temperature below operating range, Faulty ambient temperature sensor reading too low, Unit placed near cold draft or exterior wall, Control board miscalibration
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: LO is often informational, indicating the room is too cold for safe operation.
Steps:
- Check room temperature: Use a separate thermometer to verify the room is above 41°F / 5°C. If not, move the unit to a warmer area.
- Avoid cold drafts: Do not place the unit directly on a cold concrete floor or next to an exterior door or window where cold air can affect the sensor.
- Power reset: Unplug for 5 minutes, then plug back in and check if LO clears in a warmer environment.
- Sensor check: If the room is clearly warm (e.g., 70°F / 21°C) but LO remains, inspect the ambient temperature sensor and its wiring for damage or dislodging.
- Replace sensor if needed: A faulty ambient thermistor can falsely report low temperature and should be replaced.
