Possible Causes
Loose or damaged communication cable between user interface and main PCB, Corroded connectors, Faulty display/control panel board, Defective main control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the dehumidifier before removing the control panel or covers.
Steps:
- Reset: Disconnect power for 10 minutes and reconnect. If E6 reappears, proceed.
- Access control panel: Remove screws securing the top or front control panel. Carefully lift it to expose the ribbon cable or harness connecting it to the main PCB.
- Check connections: Reseat the ribbon cable on both the display board and main PCB. Look for bent pins, corrosion, or broken conductors.
- Inspect cable: If the cable is creased, cut, or brittle, replace the communication harness with a Gree-compatible part.
- Board testing: If reseating and replacing the cable does not clear E6, either the display/control panel board or the main control board is defective. Replacement typically requires matching the exact model and revision.
- Recommendation: Board-level diagnosis is best handled by a technician with access to Gree service documentation.
