Possible Causes

Water tank is full, Tank not seated correctly, Faulty tank level float or switch, Debris preventing float from dropping

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off and unplug the unit before removing the tank.

Steps:

  • Empty tank: Remove the water tank carefully to avoid spills. Empty and rinse it.
  • Clean float area: Inspect the float chamber for slime, mold, or debris. Clean thoroughly and ensure the float moves freely.
  • Reinstall tank: Slide the tank back in until it clicks or sits flush. Many Gree models will continue to show P1 if the tank is not fully inserted.
  • Switch check: If P1 remains with an empty, properly seated tank, test the tank full switch with a multimeter and replace if stuck in the "full" position.
