Possible Causes

Failed NTC temperature sensor on evaporator, Broken or shorted sensor wiring, Sensor dislodged from evaporator surface, Control board sensor input failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing internal components.

Access the temperature sensor:

  • Remove the top cover and side panel as needed (Phillips screws) to expose the evaporator (the cold metal grid where ice forms).
  • Locate the NTC temperature sensor, usually a small probe or bead sensor clipped or taped to the evaporator tubing with two thin wires leading to the control board.

Inspect and reseat:

  • Ensure the sensor is firmly attached to the evaporator surface; re-clip or re-tape if it has fallen off.
  • Check the wiring for cuts, abrasions, or signs of overheating. Confirm the connector is fully seated on the PCB.

Clean and reset:

  • Dust off the condenser and fan area to ensure proper airflow, as overheating can trigger sensor-related errors.
  • Reassemble, plug in, and restart the unit. Allow a full cycle to see if E3 reappears.

If E3 persists: Replace the NTC temperature sensor with a compatible AGLUCKY sensor. If a new sensor does not resolve the issue, the main control board may be defective and should be replaced or serviced by a technician.
