Possible Causes

Failed circulation water pump, Blocked water pump inlet, Airlock in pump, Loose or damaged pump wiring

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the ice maker and empty the reservoir before removing the pump.

Check for simple blockages:

  • Remove the ice basket and inspect the water pump intake screen at the bottom of the reservoir. Clean any debris, scale, or slime with a soft brush and mild detergent, then rinse thoroughly.
  • Refill with clean water and restart. Listen for the pump running (a soft humming sound) and watch for water flowing over the evaporator grid.

Bleed air from the pump:

  • If the pump is humming but not moving water, tilt the unit slightly forward and backward a few times (while off) to help release trapped air, then restart.

Inspect pump and wiring:

  • Unplug again. Access the circulation pump from the bottom or side panel.
  • Check that the pump connector is firmly attached to the control board and that wires are intact.
  • Remove the pump and inspect the impeller for obstructions or damage.

Next steps:

  • If the pump does not run at all when powered, replace it with a compatible AGLUCKY water circulation pump.
  • If a new pump does not resolve E8, the control board pump driver circuit may be faulty and require replacement.
