Possible Causes

Clogged water filter screen, Mineral scale in water distribution tube, Kinked internal water hose, Partially blocked pump outlet

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit and remove all water before disassembly.

Clean water path:

  • Remove the ice basket and locate the water distribution tube or spray bar above the evaporator.
  • Detach the tube (usually clips or a small screw) and flush it with warm water and white vinegar to dissolve mineral deposits. Use a soft brush or pipe cleaner if needed.
  • Clean any small filter screens at the pump outlet or reservoir bottom.

Inspect hoses:

  • Access internal hoses by removing the side or bottom panel.
  • Check for kinks, sharp bends, or pinched sections. Straighten or reroute as needed.

Reassemble and test:

  • Reinstall the water tube and hoses securely.
  • Fill the reservoir with clean water, plug in, and start a cycle. Confirm that water flows evenly over the evaporator.

If E9 persists after cleaning and hose inspection, the pump may be weak and should be replaced.
