Possible Causes
Defective water inlet valve, Clogged inlet water filter screen, Kinked or pinched water supply hose, Low household water pressure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Amica ice maker from the mains and close the water supply valve before working on any water components.
- Check water supply: Verify the household shutoff valve to the ice maker is fully open. Ensure there is adequate water pressure (typically above 0.15 MPa / 22 psi).
- Inspect inlet hose: Pull the unit forward and inspect the flexible water hose connected to the rear water inlet. Straighten any kinks or sharp bends. Replace the hose if it is crushed or damaged.
- Clean inlet filter screen: At the rear water inlet fitting on the ice maker, remove the hose and gently pull out the small mesh filter screen (if fitted). Rinse under running water and remove debris with a soft brush. Reinstall securely.
- Test water inlet valve: With the unit unplugged, access the lower rear service panel. Locate the water inlet valve assembly. Check for visible cracks or leaks. Using a multimeter, test the valve coil for continuity according to the service manual specification. If open or shorted, replace the valve.
- Reassemble and test: Reconnect the hose, open the water supply, plug the unit back in, and run a test cycle. If E1 persists after confirming water supply and valve operation, contact an authorized Amica service center.
