Possible Causes
Moisture ingress behind control panel, Worn or damaged touch keypad, Loose ribbon cable between UI and main PCB, Faulty UI board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from mains before removing the control panel.
- Dry the panel: If the issue started after cleaning or a spill, leave the unit unplugged with the control panel exposed to air for several hours to dry out any moisture.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the front control panel cover and check the flat ribbon cable connecting the keypad to the main PCB. Reseat both ends and ensure there are no visible cracks or corrosion.
- Check for physical damage: Look for cracks in the plastic panel or worn button areas. If the touch membrane is damaged, the entire UI assembly must be replaced.
- Replace UI board: If reseating the cable does not restore function and E13 persists, install a new user interface board or keypad module compatible with your Amica model.
