Possible Causes
Defective cabinet NTC sensor, Sensor dislodged from mounting point, Damaged sensor wiring, Control PCB sensor circuit failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before accessing internal wiring.
- Locate cabinet sensor: The cabinet or ambient sensor is usually mounted on the inner wall or near the air return grille inside the ice compartment.
- Check mounting: Ensure the sensor is properly clipped into its holder and not hanging loose, which can cause incorrect readings.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor leads to the control board, checking for pinched or cut wires and loose connectors.
- Measure resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure its resistance at room temperature. Compare with the Amica NTC chart. Replace the sensor if readings are out of specification.
- PCB evaluation: If the sensor and wiring are good but E14 remains, the control board may misread the sensor and should be replaced by a technician.
