Possible Causes
Blocked ventilation grilles, Failed condenser fan, Ambient temperature too high, Faulty manual-reset safety thermostat
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker and allow it to cool completely before attempting a reset.
- Improve ventilation: Move the unit away from walls to provide the recommended clearance. Ensure no objects block the air intake or exhaust.
- Check condenser fan and coil: Inspect and clean the condenser coil and verify the fan operates correctly when the compressor runs (see E9 procedure).
- Locate safety thermostat: Some Amica models have a manual-reset high-limit thermostat near the compressor or condenser. After cooling, press the reset button if present.
- Replace thermostat if faulty: If the thermostat does not reset or opens again quickly under normal conditions, replace it with the correct Amica spare.
- Monitor operation: After reset, monitor the unit for several hours to ensure it does not overheat again. Persistent E15 indicates an underlying cooling or airflow problem that must be corrected.
