Possible Causes

Stuck water inlet valve, Faulty water level sensor, Blocked overflow channel, Control PCB not closing inlet valve

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit and close the water supply immediately to prevent flooding.

  • Drain excess water: Remove the ice bin and manually scoop or sponge out excess water from the sump and bin area.
  • Inspect water level sensor: Locate the float or electronic level sensor in the sump. Check for mineral deposits or debris that may prevent proper movement or sensing. Clean with warm water and a soft brush.
  • Check overflow path: Ensure the overflow channel or hose is not blocked by scale or foreign objects. Flush with warm water.
  • Test inlet valve: With the unit unplugged, disconnect the water inlet hose and check for continuous dripping from the valve outlet. If water flows even with no power, the valve is stuck open and must be replaced.
  • Monitor refill: After reassembly, restore water and power, then observe a fill cycle. If the water continues to rise beyond the normal level, shut off the water and have the control PCB inspected or replaced by a technician.
