Possible Causes
Stuck-open inlet valve, Failed inlet valve coil, Blocked inlet screen, Faulty flow sensor (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and shut off the water supply (for plumbed-in Baridi ice makers).
- Check water connection: Ensure the supply hose is not kinked and that the shutoff valve is fully open.
- Clean inlet screen: Disconnect the water hose from the back of the ice maker. Inspect the small mesh filter inside the inlet valve and clean any sediment under running water.
- Observe fill behavior: Reconnect, turn on water, and briefly power the unit. If water continues to flow even when the machine is off, the inlet valve is stuck open and must be replaced immediately to prevent flooding.
- Test valve coil (advanced): With power off, disconnect the valve wires and measure coil resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed coil.
- Replace inlet valve: Remove mounting screws, swap in the new valve, and reconnect hoses and wiring. Use PTFE tape on threaded connections if applicable.
- Flow sensor (if present): If your model has a flow sensor, ensure it is clean and its wiring is intact. Replace if the control board does not detect flow despite proper filling.
