Possible Causes

Corrupted control firmware, Failed communication between display PCB and main PCB, Loose ribbon cable, Damaged control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the ice maker before accessing control electronics.

  • Power reset: Disconnect the unit from mains for at least 15 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge. Plug back in and check if E12 clears.
  • Inspect control connections: Remove the top or front panel to access the display board and main control PCB. Check any ribbon cables or harnesses between them for secure seating and visible damage.
  • Check for moisture: Look for signs of condensation or water ingress on the control boards. If present, dry the area thoroughly and identify the source of the leak before reassembly.
  • Examine boards for damage: Inspect for burnt components, cracked solder joints, or corrosion. If found, the affected board should be replaced.
  • Board replacement: If all connections are good and E12 persists, replace the main control PCB (and display PCB if sold as a kit) following Baridi’s service instructions.
