Possible Causes
Failed ambient NTC sensor, Sensor disconnected from control board, Sensor wire damaged near cabinet wall, Corroded sensor connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the ice maker before removing any panels.
- Locate the ambient sensor: On many Baridi ice makers, the ambient sensor is mounted near the air intake or on the side wall inside the cabinet. Look for a small probe with two wires.
- Check for physical damage: Ensure the sensor tip is intact and not broken off. Inspect the cable for cuts or crushed sections.
- Verify connections: Access the control PCB and confirm the sensor connector is fully seated and free of corrosion. Clean lightly with contact cleaner if needed.
- Measure resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure its resistance at room temperature. Compare to Baridi’s specified value. Replace the sensor if it reads open, shorted, or far out of range.
- Reassemble and test: After replacing or reseating the sensor, reassemble the unit and run a full cycle. Persistent E6 with a good sensor suggests a faulty control PCB.
