Possible Causes
Failed water pump motor, Blocked pump inlet filter, Airlock in pump, Disconnected or damaged pump wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the ice maker and drain water before removing the pump.
- Check water level: Ensure the reservoir is filled to the correct level. Very low water can cause the pump to run dry or airlock.
- Listen for pump operation: Plug in and start a cycle. After the initial start, you should hear a gentle humming or water trickling. If silent, the pump may not be running.
- Clean pump inlet: Unplug the unit, remove the ice basket, and locate the pump intake screen or filter in the reservoir. Clean any debris, scale, or slime with a soft brush and warm water.
- Inspect pump and hoses: Access the pump from the bottom or side panel. Check that hoses are not kinked and are firmly attached. Verify the pump connector is secure on the wiring harness.
- Bench test the pump (advanced): With the pump removed and using a suitable low-voltage supply (per Baridi specs), briefly power the pump to see if it spins. If it does not run or is noisy, replace the pump assembly.
- Reassemble and test: Refit the pump, refill with water, and run a cycle. If E8 persists, suspect a control board output fault to the pump.
