Possible Causes

Evaporator sensor out of calibration, Sensor shorted, Control board misreading sensor, Ice buildup around sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before working inside the cabinet.

  • Defrost ice buildup: If there is heavy ice accumulation around the evaporator and sensor, turn the unit off, remove the basket, and allow it to fully defrost. Use towels to catch meltwater.
  • Inspect sensor placement: Ensure the evaporator NTC sensor is correctly attached and not embedded in thick ice or insulation.
  • Check sensor wiring: Look for damaged insulation or crushed wires between the sensor and control board.
  • Test sensor resistance: Measure the NTC sensor resistance at room temperature and compare to Baridi’s spec. Replace if readings are out of range.
  • Control board: If a new sensor does not resolve L1, the control PCB may be misinterpreting the signal and should be replaced.
