Possible Causes
Blocked or dirty ice full sensor, Mispositioned mechanical bin switch, Failed bin full sensor, Loose sensor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before cleaning sensors.
- Empty and reseat basket: Remove the ice basket, empty it completely, and reinstall it correctly in its guides.
- Clean sensor or switch: For infrared sensors, clean the lenses on both sides of the bin area. For mechanical switches, ensure the actuator arm moves freely and is not stuck by ice.
- Check alignment: Make sure the basket properly engages the bin full switch or passes between the IR sensors without obstruction.
- Inspect wiring: Access the sensor harness and verify all connectors are secure.
- Replace sensor: If P2 remains after cleaning and alignment, replace the ice bin full sensor or switch assembly.
