Possible Causes
Failed bin temperature sensor, Loose or damaged sensor harness, Faulty connector at control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing interior panels.
Steps:
- 1. Locate bin sensor: The bin or storage temperature sensor is usually mounted on the side wall or ceiling of the ice storage compartment. Look for a small plastic-covered probe.
- 2. Visual inspection: Check for physical damage, moisture intrusion, or broken wires at the sensor head.
- 3. Resistance test: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to the Blomberg NTC chart. Replace if open, shorted, or far out of spec.
- 4. Harness and connector: Follow the cable to the main PCB, ensuring it is not pinched or cut. Reseat the connector on the board.
- 5. Replace sensor: Install a new bin temperature sensor if defective, ensuring good contact with the mounting surface and proper routing of the cable.
