Display shows E08; ice level sensor error, unit may stop making ice even when bin is empty.

Safety first: Unplug the unit before working inside the ice bin.

Steps:

• 1. Locate ice level sensor: In many Blomberg ice makers, the sensor is mounted on the side walls of the bin (emitter on one side, receiver on the other) or as a mechanical arm with a switch.
• 2. Clean sensor surfaces: Use a soft cloth and warm water to gently clean the sensor windows. Do not use abrasive cleaners that can scratch the lens.
• 3. Check alignment: Ensure the emitter and receiver are directly facing each other and not bent out of position. Adjust mounting brackets if necessary.
• 4. Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor harness back to the control board. Reseat the connector and check for damaged wires.
• 5. Replace sensor: If E08 persists after cleaning and alignment, replace the ice level sensor assembly with the correct Blomberg part.
