Safety first: Unplug the ice maker. Water may spill when opening the reservoir.

Steps:

• 1. Access reservoir: Remove the top or front cover to reach the water tank or sump where the level sensor or float is located.
• 2. Clean float and chamber: If a mechanical float is used, ensure it moves freely. Remove mineral deposits with a food-safe descaling solution and rinse thoroughly.
• 3. Clean probes: For electronic probe sensors, gently clean the metal rods with a non-abrasive pad to remove scale.
• 4. Check switch continuity: If a float switch is present, test it with a multimeter while moving the float through its range. Replace if it does not open/close correctly.
• 5. Inspect wiring: Verify that the harness from the level sensor to the control board is intact and firmly connected.
