Possible Causes
Leaking internal hose or fitting, Cracked water reservoir, Blocked drain causing overflow, Activated base pan float switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker and close the water supply valve. Water may be present in the base.
Steps:
- 1. Remove panels: Take off the lower front or side panels to inspect the base tray for standing water.
- 2. Dry base and reset float: Mop up all water and gently lower any float switch in the base. Do not bypass the switch permanently.
- 3. Identify leak source: Run a brief test with water supply on while observing hoses, reservoir, pump connections, and the evaporator area. Look for drips or spray.
- 4. Clear drain: Ensure the internal drain channel and hose are not blocked with ice or debris. Flush with warm water.
- 5. Repair or replace components: Tighten hose clamps, replace cracked hoses or reservoir, and ensure all fittings are secure.
