Possible Causes
Clogged internal drain channel, Frozen drain line, Drain hose routed uphill, Drain pump not operating correctly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit. Use towels to soak up standing water.
Steps:
- 1. Clear internal drain: Locate the drain hole at the bottom of the bin or evaporator area. Flush with warm water and a small brush to remove debris.
- 2. Thaw frozen drain: If the unit is very cold, gently warm the drain area with a hair dryer on low, keeping it away from plastic parts.
- 3. Check drain hose routing: Ensure the hose slopes downward continuously to the drain point and is not pinched.
- 4. Test drain pump: For pumped-drain models, listen for pump operation during drain. If silent or weak, inspect and replace the pump.
