Possible Causes
Jammed ice shovel, Broken gear in drive motor, Excessive ice thickness, Failed harvest motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker before touching the shovel or evaporator.
Steps:
- Defrost jammed ice: Leave the lid open and the unit unplugged for 20–30 minutes to melt ice that may be locking the shovel.
- Gently free the shovel: Once ice has softened, gently move the shovel by hand. Do not force it; if it is still stuck, allow more time to defrost.
- Clean and descale: Remove scale from the evaporator and shovel area with a descaling solution to prevent future sticking.
If the shovel motor does not run at all after clearing jams, the motor or its gearbox may need replacement by a technician.
