Possible Causes

Failed harvest motor, Jammed ice sweep arm, Broken gear in harvest mechanism, Faulty position sensor or switch

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before working near moving parts.

  • Inspect ice sweep arm: Open the door and locate the ice sweep or rake. Check for jammed ice chunks or foreign objects preventing movement. Remove obstructions carefully.
  • Check for free movement: Gently move the sweep arm by hand. If it is locked or grinding, the harvest motor or gear train may be damaged.
  • Access harvest motor: Remove the front or side cover over the ice-making assembly. Locate the harvest motor and its wiring.
  • Test motor and switch: With power off, check continuity of the motor windings and the position switch or sensor. Replace the harvest motor assembly if open or seized.
  • Reassemble and test: After replacing parts, reassemble covers, restore power, and run a test cycle to confirm proper harvest and that E11 is cleared.
