Possible Causes
Defective cabinet NTC sensor, Sensor dislodged from mounting location, Damaged sensor harness, Faulty ADC (analog-to-digital) circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing interior panels.
- Locate cabinet sensor: The ambient or cabinet sensor is usually behind an interior wall or near the air return grill. Remove the inner panel to access it.
- Check mounting and wiring: Ensure the sensor is properly clipped in place and not dangling. Inspect the harness for cuts or pinched sections. Reseat the connector at the PCB.
- Measure resistance: With the unit unplugged, test the sensor resistance at room temperature and compare to Brandt's NTC chart. Replace the cabinet sensor if readings are out of range.
- Control board check: If a new sensor does not resolve E14, the main control board's sensor input may be defective and require replacement.
