Possible Causes
Leaking water inlet valve, Cracked water trough or hose, Loose hose clamp on circulation pump, Activated base pan float switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker and close the water supply valve immediately to prevent further leakage.
- Inspect for visible leaks: Remove the front kick plate or rear panel and look for standing water in the base pan. Use towels or a wet/dry vacuum to remove water.
- Check float switch: Locate the leak detection float or sensor in the base. Ensure it moves freely and is not stuck in the "full" position. Dry the area thoroughly and reset the float.
- Trace water path: Examine the water inlet valve, hoses, circulation pump connections, and water trough for drips or mineral tracks. Tighten hose clamps and replace any cracked hoses or troughs.
- Test inlet valve: If water continues to seep into the unit when off, the inlet valve may be leaking internally and should be replaced.
- Monitor after repair: Restore water and power, then observe a full cycle for any new leaks before closing panels.
