Possible Causes
High ambient temperature around unit, Dirty condenser coil, Restricted airflow around vents, Partially blocked water filter or inlet screen
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before cleaning or moving it.
- Improve ventilation: Ensure the ice maker has the clearances specified by Brandt and that intake and exhaust grills are not blocked.
- Clean condenser: Vacuum and brush the condenser coil to improve heat rejection.
- Check ambient temperature: Move the unit away from ovens, dishwashers, or direct sunlight. Ideal ambient is typically 10–32°C.
- Clean water filter/screen: If your installation uses an external filter, replace it. Clean the inlet valve screen to restore full water flow.
- Run cleaning cycle: Use a descaling solution to clean internal water paths and evaporator, which can improve heat transfer and production.
