Possible Causes
Water supply turned off or insufficient, Failed compressor or sealed-system issue, Faulty water inlet valve, Ice level sensor falsely detecting full bin
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and close the water supply before internal checks.
- Confirm basics: Verify the unit is switched on, not in standby, and that the ice bin is correctly installed. Ensure the ambient temperature is within Brandt's specified range.
- Check water supply: Make sure the shutoff valve is open and the supply hose is not kinked. Test flow by disconnecting the hose at the unit and running water into a bucket.
- Inspect ice level sensor: Clean and check the ice level sensor or mechanical flap so it does not falsely indicate a full bin.
- Observe operation: With panels removed (and using proper precautions), verify that the compressor and condenser fan start and that the evaporator gets cold. If not, suspect a compressor, start device, or sealed-system fault and contact a technician.
- Check water fill: During startup, confirm that the water trough fills. If not, test and replace the water inlet valve as needed.
