Possible Causes
Defective main control PCB, Loose harness connection between display board and main PCB, Shorted low‑voltage power supply on PCB, Damaged power filter board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Camry ice maker from the wall outlet before removing any panels. Do not work on live circuits.
- Check the outlet and cord: Plug a lamp or phone charger into the same outlet to confirm power. Inspect the Camry power cord for cuts, burns, or kinks.
- Inspect the power filter board: Remove the rear or side service panel (depending on model). Locate the small power filter/EMI board where the cord enters the unit. Check for burnt spots or swollen components. Reseat the connectors firmly.
- Check harness to main PCB: Follow the wiring from the power filter to the main control PCB. Ensure all multi‑pin plugs are fully seated and not corroded. Disconnect and reconnect each once.
- Inspect the main control PCB: Look for burnt traces, bulged capacitors, or signs of moisture damage. If any are present, the board should be replaced.
- Test again: Reassemble panels, plug the unit back in, and see if the display powers normally. If E1 persists, the main PCB is likely faulty and should be replaced.
If you are not comfortable working around mains voltage, contact a qualified appliance technician.
