Possible Causes

Clogged Camry inlet water filter screen, Defective water inlet solenoid valve, Faulty water level sensor or float switch, Kinked or pinched inlet hose

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the ice maker and close the water supply valve before servicing.

  • Check water supply: Ensure the household shutoff valve feeding the Camry ice maker is fully open. Verify water pressure is adequate by briefly disconnecting the hose and running it into a bucket.
  • Inspect inlet hose: Look for kinks, sharp bends, or crushing. Straighten or replace the hose if damaged.
  • Clean inlet filter screen: At the connection to the Camry water inlet valve, remove the hose and gently pull out the small mesh filter. Rinse debris under running water and reinstall.
  • Check float or level sensor: Open the top cover and locate the water reservoir. Verify the float moves freely and is not stuck by scale or debris. Clean with warm water and a soft brush.
  • Test the inlet valve: With power disconnected, inspect the Camry water inlet valve coil for burn marks. If you have a multimeter, check coil resistance; an open coil indicates a failed valve that must be replaced.

Restore water and power, then run a test cycle. If E2 returns after these steps, the inlet valve or level sensor assembly likely needs replacement.
